Removing pages deletes the specific pages you do not want and keeps the rest of the document intact. It is the quickest way to drop a blank sheet, a confidential page, or an unwanted section.

What removing pages does

You select the page numbers to delete and Slate rebuilds the PDF without them, renumbering the remaining pages automatically. Everything else, including text, images, and formatting, stays exactly as it was.

Removing pages is the mirror image of extracting them: here you name what to discard rather than what to keep, which is quicker when only a few pages need to go. The surviving pages are copied without any change in quality, and their content is untouched, so the result is a clean, shorter version of the original. Because the source file is left alone, you can always start over if you remove the wrong page.

When removing pages is the right tool

• A scan added blank pages between double-sided originals.
• You need to strip a page containing sensitive information before sharing.
• A report includes a draft or placeholder page that should not ship.
• You want to trim an appendix or cover sheet from a document.

Tips for removing the right pages

• Confirm page numbers in the viewer, since the first page may be numbered differently from its printed label.
